2025 Override Vote
-
YES For Melrose
Volunteers have created a website at https://www.yesformelrose.org/ that provides important details about the override.
I support voting “YES” on all 3 override questions on Tuesday, November 4th. (Or through mail-in or early voting.) Our city has had to make significant cuts each of the past 2 years that I’ve been in office, due to how quickly our costs are rising. For example, last year our employee health insurance costs rose by 12%. Without increased revenue, we must resort to downsizing city and school positions, cutting city services, and raising fees to balance the budget. Many departments are also going without supplies and trainings this year. Further cuts will be necessary next year without an override.
If this override would pose a hardship for you, there is some assistance with taxes and fees available for those who are seniors, disabled, low-income, veterans, or have other special circumstances. I would be happy to connect with anyone who would like to learn more and explore these options.
