This weekend, I recommend checking out the Chalk Walk! This annual community event and fundraiser for Follow Your Art is a joy, as artists and community members decorate the sidewalks by Ell Pond and in front of City Hall. I’m excited to sponsor Ward 5 artist Sally Gordan’s work on this project! The Melrose Health and Human Services Department will host three flu vaccination clinics for individuals age 5 and up! Make your appointment now to protect yourself from influenza by clicking one of the following links: October 9 at the Melrose Senior Center, October 21 at Melrose Memorial Hall, and October 28 at the Melrose Senior Resource Fair at Memorial Hall. I’m excited to report that Melrose’s Traffic Commission has approved making the intersection of Trenton and Russell into a 4-way stop. While this is technically in Ward 3, it’s right outside of the Ward 5 boundaries and a common route used by many residents. I’m also happy that Traffic Commission is newly available to watch live as well as recorded on MMTV! You can find their recent meeting recording here. These meetings are typically several hours long, so having them available for review after the fact makes them much more accessible for people who can’t dedicate an entire evening at once.
